Distance sensors work using light, infrared radiation, radio waves, or ultrasound and use different measurement methods. Sound spreads as a wave. An echo is reflected to the source of the ultrasound saves, and is then received and evaluated as a signal. The difference between the time the signal was sent and when it was received indicates the distance between an obstacle and the sensor. The sensor’s range is up to 4 m. The output numerical value corresponds to the distance in centimeters.
